A Date with Jane Austen.

Dream

I'm on an outing with our Probus club. We are going to meet Jane Austen, her family and her literary characters. We are attending a Regency Ball and dinner and we are all suitably dressed in our regency finery. Various scenes from her novels are acted out for us. Various events from her life are acted out for us. Her father dies, and Jane's clothing immediately changes to black.
The dinner has ended and we, the Probus group, are gathered around chatting amongst ourselves. I go to leave. On my way out I meet a dwarf at the entrance. I immediately recognize him and greet him whole-heartedly. He is well dressed except that his clothing is looking a little worse for wear. Also his face and hands are smeared with dirt. He is wanting to know how his claim is progressing. I direct him to speak to the club secretary.

Dream notes and associations

I was watching a program on Jane Austen last night and I fell asleep during the show. I am pretty sure that the dialogue from the program was directing the action in the dream. So it was a sort of day-dream. What does the dwarf represent, especially his appearance? His clothes looked like they had been made from very expensive cloth, but it had started so signs of wear & tear. I recognised him in the dream but I don't recognise him in real life. The dwarf was an old man. His eyes looked old and tired. (and dirty)His hair was gray, long and messy.
I think this dream is also about my autobiography of my teenage years.
I am an admirer of Jane Austen and her writing.
I have changed my mind. I think this dream is about another writing project that I am researching at the moment. It will be set in Georgian Times. I am planning to write a biography of my 3G grandfather, George Hoath. There is a family legend that he was the personal coachman to the King. But we don't know which King. It has to be one of the Georgian Kings because of when he lived. I have ruled out William IV because his personal coachman was Mr Robert Richards. So that leaves George III or George IV.

My feelings throughout the dream and on awakening

A whole range of emotions and feelings connected with life in general. It felt exciting going to this event. Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility. Old and tired.

Last night I had an erotic dream. I woke up immediately afterwards, with the story fresh in my mind. I immediately made a connection to the above dream, especially the dwarf. This morning those are the only facts I can recall. Can’t remember the story at all. Before going to bed last night I spotted my Dream Dictionary in the bookcase. Got it out and looked up dwarf. Said something about an undeveloped talent. Thought I would discuss that with you. In bed I suddenly made the connection to the dream. Don’t think I need to spell it out. If I do recall the dream details I will log it here. Meantime can you let me know what times you have available next week. Thanks.
