Plum Jam
Dream
I am exploring on foot, Canberra's east-west axis. Mount Ainslie is behind me (east) and Black Mountain is in front of me (west). I am very familiar with this path. I decide to explore south but I am not very familiar with this path and I find that I have to stop and ask directions. Even though I am not familiar with this way some of it has a feeling of Deja vu. I make a batch of plum jam.

Dream notes and associations
I was born and grew up in Canberra. The moon, and the sun, would always rise over Mt Ainslie and set behind Black Mountain. We lived on the lower slopes of Mt Ainslie.
A recurring dream. I have had lots of dreams in the past where I am exploring Canberra on foot. First one for some time. Making plum jam brings up memories of when I was growing up and making jams, chutneys, etc. We would all be gathered around the table. I would be weighing the ingredients. Later, when I was older, I would be cutting up ingredients. In the dream I am making plum jam on my own. Japanese plum trees were the street trees in Ainslie where I grew up. Also, I am wondering if there is a connection with this dream and the military police car dream, i.e the change of direction. And feelings of Deja vu has turned up in a recent dream.
My feelings throughout the dream and on awakening
Exploring the familiar, exploring the unfamiliar, Deja vu.
Hi Lindsay, there’s something here about asking for directions that seems familiar within your recent dreams. And interesting to note you were making plum jam on your own, indicating a sense of independence or mastery.
I am also noticing a connection with the Plague of Marmosets dream which brought up some pleasant nostalgic memories for me. Let me know what times you have next week and I will make a booking.
