The Explorers.

Dream

I am riding through the desert on a 3 wheel motorbike. It is a very harsh environment. The road is in good repair. The motorbike looks like something from a 1920s science fiction movie. The desert is not flat. It is very mountainous. I am driving up into the mountains. A head of me is another vehicle it also looks very elaborate. I come to a plateau and I find this vehicle has come to a stop. I decide to keep going. I do a hard left turn past the vehicle and find myself climbing up another mountain.
It is late at night and I have been driving for a long time. I stop and take stock of where I'm at. I decide to keep going till I arrive at the next settlement. I am about to drive on when I realise I have been joined by a woman. She is the driver of the other vehicle. She wants to stop and spend the night here but she doesn't want to be alone. She wants me to stay with her. She is about 40 to 50. She looks Arabic and her clothes look very expensive. We are lying under the stars in a sleeping bag large enough for 2 people. We are fully clothed. After a day of exploring the geography of the desert, we explore the geography of our bodies. '

Dream notes and associations

I am reading Voss by Patrick White at the moment. It is a fictional novel based on Ludwig Leichhardt's exploration of Australia. I was reading it last night, before going to bed. I fell asleep and had that dream. Reminds me of a few of my desert dreams. The themes of the novel is Voss exploring the landscapes and geography of Australia, and Voss and Laura Trevelyan explore the landscapes and geography of their inner worlds.

My feelings throughout the dream and on awakening

Harsh environment, exploration, erotic.

Hi Lindsay, interesting to note the contrast between this desert dream and your recent cemetery dreams. I’m wondering if you’re on a new journey now and have reached a new settlement in life or in psyche.
