The Military Police Car
Dream
I am walking along a street. It looks like an inner city suburban street. There is a military police car parked in the street. It looks like a 1950s/60s Plymouth. As I approach the car the siren and the flashing lights come on. The car has to turn around, 180° but it has great difficulty in doing that. Having turned around it drives a little way and it has to turn left. Again this is very difficult. I am feeling frustrated watching it.

Dream notes and associations
Obviously there is some emergency in my life that I need to do an about face and head in a different direction. I can't think what. My brother had an angina attack 2 weeks ago and has recently had a triple bypass. My 2nd cousin, who I recently discovered living in Melbourne, he recently had a stroke and I have made some vague plans to drive to Melbourne and catch up with him and his partner. Why such an old car? Why military police?
My feelings throughout the dream and on awakening
Frustration.
Hi Lindsay, I concur this dream seems to be communicating a change of direction is required – almost an overhaul at 180 degrees. The sirens indicate an urgency to this situation while military could suggest a forced or authoritarian approach may be involved.
That does make sense. Since retiring I feel that I have been drifting. Just dealing with what needs to be dealt with on a day-to-day basis. And I don’t appear to be achieving much.
