The Wedding
Dream
Penny and I are getting married. The wedding takes place in our backyard. It is a gloriously sunny day and there are hundreds of guests. (No one was social distancing) All the men were in morning suits, Penny wore a simple white wedding dress, which looked stunning on her.
It is now night and the wedding reception is over and there are a few hanger's on still there. Joan, a friend of Penny's is there and a woman who I recognise but can't place. She is asking questions like "how is your life going?" etc. I try to reply but Joan replies for herself. I am a bit annoyed at this. The End
Dream notes and associations
Penny and I have no plans for getting married. I have a few issues with Joan. She come from the school of fake-it-till-you-make-it. Problem is she has never made it so she is still faking it. She is forever telling us how fabulous her life is, only to have it come crashing down around her like a house of cards.
My feelings throughout the dream and on awakening
The first part felt very sunny, The last bit felt confused and annoyed.
Hi Lindsay, dreaming of getting married generally tends to signify a commitment you may be undertaking in waking life. And it sounds as if there could be an element of ‘faking til you make it’ represented by Joan in this scenario!
