Atonement
Dream
Penny and I are on holidays somewhere out in the country. I have killed someone and I am asking everyone to forgive me. My brother, Alistair arrives. He has bought a basset hound puppy. It is very small and he is carrying it in a paper shopping bag.

Dream notes and associations
I haven't killed anyone lately. We had basset hounds when I was growing up. It was my brother's school project. We bred them. The puppy was tricolor like one of my brother's dogs, Toreador. The puppy was very timid. Why carry him around in a paper shopping bag? What's that all about. I don't know who was killed, or when they were killed.
My feelings throughout the dream and on awakening
forgiveness, timid

Hi Lindsay, ha – good to hear you haven’t killed anyone lately. Seeking forgiveness in a dream can symbolise the need to absolve oneself or rectify a situation. That’s an interesting scenario – perhaps the dog required shielding or protection, hence the paper bag?
